Heart and Breath Rhythm
Changes in the pattern of the heart’s rhythm create tranquility
Service Description
There is an important link between emotions and changes in the patterns of both efferent (descending) and afferent (ascending) autonomic activity. These changes in autonomic activity are associated with dramatic changes in the pattern of the heart’s rhythm that often occur without any change in the amount of heart rate variability. Sustained positive emotions, such as appreciation, love, or compassion, are associated with highly ordered or coherent patterns in the heart rhythms, reflecting greater synchronization between the two branches of the ANS, and a shift in autonomic balance toward increased parasympathetic activity
